Chess is one of the ancient games played since the 6th century AD. Originated in India, the game spread to other parts of the world and has been played in its present format since 1475 across the world. The game gained recognition as a professional sport and world championship tournaments are being held since the early 1900s.

The game of chess is a fair game. There is no room for luck or chance in this game. That means, as a player, you are responsible for all the moves in the game. If you make a wrong move, then you should face the consequences of the wrong move.

Yes. What is the big deal in that?

It implies that you should own responsibility for what ever you do. You cannot escape from the consequences of the mistake. Bearing this in mind, you should think twice before you make a move. Is it not?

This practice of analyzing the situation, the relative merits and demerits, the opportunities and the threats that the present position presents – all these things help you indirectly, nurture your mind to analyzing the ground realities in a real-life situation more clearly, and then lead you to think about the optimal solution. This reasoning capacity and the understanding of the situation is half of the solution to the problem. One cultivates the good habit of understanding the depth of the situation or the problem before initiating steps to think about a possible solution.
