According to many surveys performed, it has been shown that chess can improve a child’s ability to think…to think intelligently and more clearly…

Chess is a very old game and is probably the best thinker’s game gifted to us by out ancestors. It not only needs intelligence but also patience and dedication. Its need tough practicing…very clear understanding of the game. Now days there are many computer games which can help you to improve your skill.

You can consult many books and magazines to improve your skill and thinking power. There are many e-books that you can download and can read thoroughly to get a better understanding of the game. To improve your game you need to work hard…you can write down all the moves of all the games you play and analyze it…jot down the critical moments…you can also consult and show your jotted down moves to a coach who can help you.

Playing with the computer is good for practicing but you must also play with some humans. You can ask some more experienced players to play with you…and you can request them to tell you where you were wrong. You can take part in some tournaments…where you will find much competition and it can increase your skill.

While playing against the computer you can choose to play at different levels. Increase your level with time…doesn’t become static…play with different ideas…if you get a good idea try to implement it unless it becomes perfectly correct…then try to use the same idea while playing at higher level…you can also play online chess with some other humans…you can also try out your skills and ideas there…make one thing very clear, you have to make your strategy and expertise it…you can also read some grandmaster’s strategies to create yours.

Chess is only a game which needs patience and wit. If someone tells you that it’s the game of the gifted one then just blow him off. Practice it hard and they will call you the gifted one. Even grandmasters get beaten. So aren’t they gifted…? Just believe in yourself and do it.
